Mohamed Salah Ghaly (Egyptian Arabic: محمد صلاح غالى pronounced [mæˈħamæd sˤɑˈlɑːħ ˈɣæːli]; born 15 June 1992) is an Egyptian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Liverpool and the Egyptian national team.
Salah Started his career with El Mokawloon then transferred to FC Basel in 2012, then he played for Chelsea, Fiorentina (on loan) and for Roma before transferring to Liverpool in 2017. As well as representing the Egyptian national team since 2011, He won a bronze medal in Africa U-20 Cup of Nations, he also participated in the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup, the 2012 Summer Olympics, 2017 CAF Cup of Nations and he reached the final but lost it, then he successfully qualified with his national team to the FIFA World Cup 2018and he became the top scorer of FIFA World Cup qualification (CAF).
He won the Swiss Super League in his first season with Basel and Premier League 2014–15, Football League Cup 2014–15 with Chelsea, He was awarded the CAF Most Promising African Talent of the Year in 2012.[4] In 2013, he was awarded the SAFP Golden Player award for being the best player in the Swiss Super League.
In 2017, Salah was named CAF African Footballer of the Year,[5] the BBC African Footballer of the Year,[6]and Premier League Player of the Month (November).[7] He was also selected in the CAF Team of the Yearand CAF Africa Cup of Nations Team of the Tournament.
