The accused pleaded guilty to chargers of conspiracy, causing damage, unlawful entry and stealing and was sentenced on his own plea.
According to the facts of the case as presented to the court by Chief Inspector Sampson Oduro, the accused and his accomplice Enoch Owusu Ansah who was not in court, broke into the room of the complainant who is a banker at Techimantia on April 26, 2017 and made away with a mobile phone, a DVD player, a JDC player, shaving machine, solar charger, a strong decoder and a cash of GHC50.
A report was lodged with the police and days later, the DVD player was found with a repairer who mentioned the first accused person as the owner who had brought it for repairs.
Isaac Asare was arrested and in his caution statement admitted the offence but mentioned Enoch Owusu Ansah as his accomplice who was also arrested.
They were initially arraigned before the court but granted bail pending the final determination of the matter before but the second accused failed to turn up for the judgment.
The trial judge therefore issued a bench warrant for his arrest.
