Nine students have been picked up by the Tema Police after what started as a fight between two students degenerated into a massive chaos between students of Tema Technical Institute (TTI) and Chemu Senior High School.
A student from Chemu was rushed to Narh-Bita hospital with a fractured arm on Wednesday after some students from TTI allegedly attacked them.
Some five students have been arrested for their involvement in the act. The Police said they will be interrogated as part of ongoing investigations with the assistance of both school heads.
Tema Regional Police PRO, ASP Joseph Benefo Darkwa, told Joy News’ Kwame Yankah that more students have been arrested following hints of a reprisal.
According to ASP Benefo Darkwa, early Friday morning, they had intelligence that as a result of what happened the previous day, the students from Chemu are regrouping to cause mayhem.
“We deployed our men very early so when we had information the students heard the information, they did not group at the place again,” he said.
The police have sounded a word of caution to all students that anyone who engages in any act of violence will be arrested.
He said the police are on the ground and have put in place security measures to ensure that peace prevails.
Meanwhile, both schools are on midterm break and will resume next week.
