Rawlings |
Former Spokesperson of the Rawlings’, Mr. Kofi Adams has hailed his former boss who is also the founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Jerry John Rawlings for nurturing him in truth saying he has made him know the value of truth in life.
Mr. Adams who is now serving the party as its National Organizer currently battling with a section of the party said this in an interview with Kwame Adinkra on Abusua Fm in Kumasi Thursday.
“I know how it helps when somebody says the truth to save you. The Former President, Rawlings stood by me at a certain critical time. The truth he said at the time is one of the encouraging words that kept me going. Therefore, I know the value of truth and the cost of lies”. He compared and contrasted.
Mr. Adams’ said this while explaining why he has recently campaigned that Former President John Dramani Mahama is the best candidate for his party in 2020 and he needed to tell the truth to his fellow members.
He also indicated in his capacity as National Organizer, former President Mahama was not the reason for the party’s defeat in the 2016 elections saying; the NPP won power based on lies and deceit.
When asked if he knew his statement could be an advantage to some of his party members and disadvantage to others, he said it is necessary, to tell the truth at all times.
“At all times, it is better, to tell the truth for it to be an advantage to someone and be the disadvantage to another than to allow lies become a gain to another person”. He chided
According to Mr. Adams, he had experienced similar situations, therefore, he has pledged to tell the truth all the time even if it will be an advantage to his opposing member.
“It has occurred to me before and I have sworn on this earth that, even if the person happens to be my opponent and knowing he is not being treated well, I will speak out the truth”. He stated with passion.
He, however, grieved the fact that even if nobody supports him by saying the truth, he will not keep quiet for lies to reign.
