The event, covered by mynewsgh.com, brought together experts from the various Embassies and Missions as well as key security representatives of various agencies of government.
Officials from top hierarchy of the Military and Police, the Bureau of National Investigations, BNI; The Criminal Investigations Department CID, The Narcotics Control Board NACOB, The Economic and Organized Crime Office EOCO among others were also present.
Security attachés of the Embassies and Missions in the country who were present the evenet shared ideas with the security leadership of the country some security issues and combating crime in Ghana, particularly crimes of trans-national and cross-border nature.
Also present was CID Boss, DCOP Maame Tiwaa Addo-Danquah who encouraged members of the general public to help the police service with constructive criticism.

“The Ghana Police Service has established the Diplomatic Support Directorate to attend to the security needs of Embassies and Missions in Ghana”, he summarized the purpose of the Directorate.
“The Directorate is under the command of a Director-General who has been elevated to be a member of the Police Management and Advisory Board, the highest decision-making body of the service. Crime and criminal activity has no regard for national boundary, Trans-national and cross-border crime have become well coordinated and pervasive more than ever. Criminal networks are getting more organised, more resources and more sophisticated”, the IGP continued.
“There is the need for stringent cooperation while coordinating efforts to confront these threats”.
Mynewsgh.com has learnt the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and other relevant treaties including the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations and host country agreements requires the receiving State to protect the premises of the mission against any intrusion or damage and to prevent any disturbance of the peace of the mission or impairment of its dignity.
