Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh, Former Municipal Chief Executive for the Ejisu Juaben Municipality |
49 percent of respondents stated that they would vote for the candidate of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), while five percent said they would not vote at all.
The vociferous politician argues that the survey, is a politically motivated one which can never distract the main opposition party National Democratic Congress [NDC] focus to unseat President Akufo-Addo’s government in the 2020 general election.
”I don’t trust this report by the Centre for Democratic Development [CDD, it’s a bogus one that can never distract the NDC’s focus as far as the 2020 general election is concerned” Yamoah Ponko told host of Abusua Nkommo, Kwame Adinkrah.
He wondered why the CDD would contact a survey in favour of the NPP considering the massive hardship the country is going through currently under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo.
However, Natioanl organizer of the NDC, Kofi Adams has dismissed the recent CDD survey in a separate interview saying ''In 2003, because of the biased nature of CDD, the NDC severed relations with them. That was when Dr. Obed Asamoah was Chairman”.
''We have since not renewed our relationship with them because they have been very biased. NEC approved that decision, it was reported at Congress and Congress okayed it and since then we haven’t changed that decision,”. he added.
