6 Tramadol traders fined GHS18K in Eastern Region

The six pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of restricted drugs without lawful authority

Six sellers of Tramadol and other unapproved cosmetics, have been fined GHS3000 each by a Koforidua Circuit Court presided over by Janet Animah Marfo

They are William Murphy, 32; Shakira Mohammed, 24; Irene Boateng, 35; Evelyn Ama Asantewaa, 48; Amina Sulemana, 35; and Taufikatu Belson, 35.

Should they fail to pay the fine, each will spend five years in jail.

The six pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of restricted drugs without lawful authority.

The court also issued an a arrest warrant for Emmanuel Kofi Oppong, 42; for failing to appear in court.
