High-flying Accra Hearts of Oak will endeavour to make it four out of four when they meet Liberty Professionals at the Accra Stadium in match day 10 of the ongoing Ghana Football Association (GFA) Normalisation Committee (NC) Special Competition this afternoon.
The Phobians would be aiming for back-to-back over their regional rivals due to the one-nil victory they registered over their opponents in match day five at the Carl Reindorf Park at Dansoman.
Clearly, this may not be a difficult prediction to make, judging from how the Phobians have warmed themselves into the competition.
Their resilience has convinced many that they indeed have gone through a transformation process, especially their spectacular display against WAFA, leading to a 4-0 thrashing in Accra last Sunday.
However, Dansoman-based Liberty, who are currently fifth on the Zone B log, would seek answers to the threat their opponents pose.
The “Scientific Soccer lads” have recorded a loss and two draws in their three previous matches, but that notwithstanding, revenge would certainly be on their minds today.
Coach Reginald Asante’s side have not won any game away from home so far, except two drawn games and two losses, making it a tall order for them against Coach Kim Grant’s lads, who are having a jolly ride currently.
Goalkeeper Richmond Ayi, Christopher Bonney, Robert Addo, Alhassan Mohammed, Benjamin Afutu, Daniel Kodie, Fatau Mohammed, Manaf Umar, Joseph Esso, Michelle Sarpong and others would be available for the Phobians’ challenge, while Coach Asante will rely on the services of Ganiu Shaibu, Michael Sefa, Elvis Kyei Baffour, Samuel Amofa, Michael Enu, Leonard Amesimeku, Michael Ampadu, Benjamin Eshun, George William Ansong, Simon Zibo and others to seek revenge.
WAFA will welcome Dreams FC to Sagakope; Elmina Sharks will play Ebusua Dwarfs at the Nduom Stadium, and second-placed Karela United travel to the Tema Stadium to contend with Inter Allies. In Zone A Kumasi Asante Kotoko will play host to Bechem United at the Baba Yara Stadium; Medeama SC play visiting Ashantigold at Tarkwa, while Berekum Chelsea play at home against Techiman Eleven Wonders at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.
